👰🏽 The southern Vietnam’s lands were first developed through the political marriage between Lady Ngọc Vạn and King Chey Chettha II, which maintained peace and allowed Vietnamese settlement in Saigon – Gia Định, laying the foundation for its growth.

⚒️ Saigon has undergone many historical upheavals. In 1698, General Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh, under the orders of Lord Nguyễn Phúc Chu, expanded and established Vietnamese sovereignty here, creating Gia Định Province and officially integrating the region into Đại Việt. This marked the beginning of Saigon’s development as a major economic and cultural center in the South.

🏯 In the board game Kinh Lược 1698, you will become a Cai bộ (Administration Commissioner) helping General Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh in the planning of Gia Định land. The game board features a large citadel representing "Gia Định", where you will plan forests, rice fields, ports, and markets to transform Gia Định into a prosperous and thriving region.
